Although it’s nowhere near thick enough to support fishermen and snowmobiles, ice is beginning to form along the shoreline at Houghton Lake thanks to the recent cold snap. This photo was taken along the North Bay portion of the lake the morning of Wednesday, Nov. 19. A thin layer of ice is also forming along the South Shore and extended out about 50 yards into the lake the same morning.
